The Good Morning Adoption Fund Inc. Adoption Grant

GRANT APPLICATION GUIDELINES & INFORMATION:

Grants will be awarded in the amounts of either $2,500 or $5,000 depending on financial need.  Checks in the awarded amount will be made payable to your adoption agency.
 
Applicants must be a US citizen whose principle residence is in a New England state (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT) and exhibit financial need.
 
Applicants must be working with a licensed adoption agency, which has an office located in a New England state (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT).  You will be asked to provide all agency contact information. 
 
To begin the application process you must have a complete certified home study that has been approved by a qualified agency in a New England state (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT). No applications will be considered without this.
 
Total gross annual income of applicant(s) must be less than $70,000, as reported in the home study.
 
Total assets of applicant(s) must be less than $250,000 (excluding equity in primary residence and federal income tax qualified retirement accounts) as reported in the home study.
 
Applicants must exhibit a commitment to adoption and will proceed with or without a grant from the Good Morning Adoption Fund (GMAF).
 
Family members and close personal friends, of the GMAF board are prohibited from applying for grants.
 
Applications for reimbursement on a finalized adoption will not be accepted. 
 
If at anytime recipient terminates adoption plans the grant money will be forfeited and must be returned to GMAF for future distribution.  By signing this application the applicant(s) certify that they have informed their adoption agency of this policy.
 
We reserve the right to contact applicants and/or their adoption agency by phone to clarify any information provided in the application or to conduct a telephone interview.
 
Grants will be awarded in April and October annually.  Grant recipients will be notified via telephone and/or mail by April 15th for the April grant and by October 15th for the October grant.
   
Due to the volume of applicants, please do not call to follow up on your application or to be sure that we received it.  If there are any questions concerning your application we will contact you directly.  Applications can be sent via certified mail if delivery receipt is desired. 
 
Applicants may apply as often as they meet selection criteria, however may only receive one grant per adoption event. 
 
The GMAF requests a picture of the recipient(s) and GMAF board member(s) at the grant presentation ceremony for use in future GMAF promotions.  A release form will be provided to recipients.  Signature on the release form is not required for a grant award.
 
APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY FEBRUARY 15th FOR THE APRIL GRANTS AND BY AUGUST 15th FOR THE OCTOBER GRANTS. NO EXCEPTIONS.
